Extension
KATC extension workers visit and give follow-up advice to farmers who have undergone the KATC training. Some of the extension methods used include:
• Demonstration plots – about 30 demonstration plots are set up in Chongwe district every rainy season.
• Field days – these are held in February/March at each demonstration plot.
• Follow-up visits, regular visits to trained farmers
• Radio programs – since 2001, KATC runs an agricultural radio program in collaboration with Yatsani community radio based in Lusaka. KATC also runs radio programs with Ra-dio Christian Voice and ZNBC.
